Pancake Breakfast

Tyler and Jared's school has a pancake breakfast each year. Applebee's allows us to use the space and the teachers and staff are the cooks and servers. It's a great event and the kids had a blast!

My youngest child, you know, the one that is all of six months, three weeks and three days old, has decided it’s a great idea to pull himself up on things, climb stairs and have free reign of the house. Our dear Tyler eased us into things, hitting all her milestones at the right time, crawling at six months, pulling up at nine months, taking her first steps on her first birthday. Then we thought Jared was just more motor skills oriented, walking by ten months, that’s after he jumped out of his crib at nine months. I guess Asher wants to keep up with them. Mommy just wants a stiff drink (and to have her baby back!).

Liberty and justice for all!

Today Tyler's grade celebrated Constitution Day. Tyler dressed up as the Statue of Liberty and prepared her own speech. She was even voted Best Costume! We are so proud of her. She had a lot of fun too. Myself, Grandma M. and Asher were able to come watch her.

1st rec soccer game of the season!

Jared has his first recreational soccer game of the fall season on Saturday. He scored two goals! We all had fun, though Tyler didn't want to go. However, I even got a picture of her, which is rare these days. Jared is trying out for the travel soccer team this season. They are real try outs and I think I'm more nervous than he is. How could anyone reject his cuteness?

1st Day of School!

It's the beginning of a new school year! Tyler is in 6th grade and Jared is in 1st grade. They looked so cute this morning and even half cooperated for this photo. They did almost fall over with all their school supplies. They got new L.L. Bean back packs with the monograms, they really like those.

Lack of Creativity

As you can tell, I have little creativity in regards to blogs. I can't even come up with one post in 5 months. It's a resolution in 2008 to come up with some creative writing talents or just put whatever talents I used to have to good use.

Reflection

I got one of those chain emails from a friend the other day. It had a lot of questions about what I thought I was going to be when I grow up and what I actually am.

I never thought I'd be a mom. I never wanted to be a mom as a child. I was too much of a tomboy. Tomboy still to this day, I have two beautiful children and expecting a third. I think I'm a good mom. They are well-behaved kids who do well at anything they try. I adore them. If anything were to ever happen to them, I would... well, I can't even imagine. I wouldn't give up motherhood for anything and I'm glad God chose for me to have children, even if I didn't think I'd like it, be prepared for it or enjoy.

Marriage? HAHA! Never thought that'd happen either. I thought I would be content in dating forever. Look at how that went! I married my high school sweetheart. He's an amazing man, absolutely amazing. Of course we have our ups and downs but the ups more than outweigh the downs. And after ten years, the downs are few and far between.

I am blessed with a great life.

Sometimes those chain emails are instantly deletable. Sometimes you open them and they make you think about life.
