Christmas Eve

I LOVE Christmas! Ask anyone. So yes, I again, torture my poor children with matching or coordinating PJs and clothes. I'm sorry but they look simply adorable if I do say so myself.
The kids got to open one present each on Christmas Eve. This year they were from their great grandmother, Mudd Mudds. Jared got a Nerf gun, Tyler got lots of cool Hannah Montana stuff and Asher got a vacuum cleaner. They loved their gifts! The boys also got their yearly Hess trucks, always a bonus treat!

Christmas with friends!

Today we had a Christmas celebration with our friends/family. We all show up in our PJs to Jeremy's cousin's house as well! The adults do a secret Santa type exchange and the kids have a blast opening presents, making cookies and playing with each other.

Pajama Day

It was Pajama Day in Jared's class today! I was lucky enough to be the first reader. I read the story Pajama Day. A very cute book! His class loved it. I wore my PJs just like his friends and teachers.

New Job for ME!

As of the first of the year, I will be a full-time stay at home mom. Not really by choice but I am being laid off.

I hope to go back to school some and spend more time with the kids.

Some probably thought that I got a lot of time with the kids working from home but it was a job that involved a lot of computer work and being on the phones and not so much Tyler, Jared and Asher time.

I'll being joining some playgroups, attending library story time and cooking dinners that involve a little more time.

I hope we can financially manage this, it will be a great thing. Keep us in your prayers!

Why my kids will hate me when I'm old and gray.

Yes, that is the perfect name for this post. I love my children dearly but I do subject them to coordinating outfits like this for some occasions. Jeremy shakes his head and rolls his eyes and soon will be the day that they will too. But don't they look adorable? This was my very failed attempt of holiday card shots at the museum.

The Afternoon at the Museum

We went to the museum this afternoon. We hadn't been in awhile. The had the Chocolate Fest going on and there were a lot of other vendors too. The kids had a blast!

9 Month Stats

Here is a quickie:

Asher went to see Dr. Brand today and according to him, Asher is growing wonderfully. Great news as always.

Weight: 19 lbs., 13 oz.
Length: 28 in.

Both are in the 50th percentile.

He is doing a lot of things that are in the 12 to 15 month gross and fine motor skill area.

And no shots today!

9 Months Old

I can not believe it! Asher Nathaniel is 9 months old today. The time is flying by. He is such a good baby and he's growing up so quickly. Tomorrow we go for his 9 month check up. Hopefully there will be no shots and he has gained some of the weight back that he lost from being sick a few weeks ago.

Thanksgiving!

This year's Thanksgiving has been wonderful! Though there are times family drives you nuts, I am so thankful for them.

Today my mom, my brother, my sister-in-law and my niece and nephew came over. It was a fun time and the kids had a blast together. Asher had fun randomly looking at his Uncle Chris and laughing. Funny thing, I do the same! HEHE

Now, my mom, my friend Lacie and I are headed to do some Black Friday shopping! Lee, here we come!

Happy 1st Birthday Julia Grace!

Today is the birthday of my friend Kelly's daughter. Today she is 1. She is in Heaven celebrating her first birthday and we miss her very much. Today the kids and I went to the park where this year's March of Dimes walk was. We walked as Julia's Grace team. We put on our t-shirts from the walk, went to the party store and got some hot pink and lime green balloons to match our shirts. While they were filling our balloons, the songs Angels Among Us was playing on the store's radio. It brought me to tears. I listened to what Tyler and Jared wanted to write on the balloons and I put it on them. They are very sweet kids if I do say so myself. I told them that we were going to send the balloons to Heaven for Julia's birthday.

Asher's 1st Haircut! (and boo-boo)

Today Asher got his first haircut! His hair was getting a little too wild plus Mommy needed to do it before Daddy took him and ran off to do it! He had about an inch taken off the back and about 2 inches off the sides and top! He still has his little Conan on top because I couldn't part with it!

In the second and third picture you can probably see the dark bruise on his face. He and the coffee table had a meeting this morning and they decided they didn't like each other. Asher was trying to reach his bottle and lost his footing and slammed his cute little cheek into the edge of the coffee table. He cried for about two seconds and that was it!

BRUSH BRUSH BRUSH!

It was a day of a lot of firsts! We also started brushing Asher's teeth today! Prior to this we were just washing his gums and teeth with a washcloth but I thought it was time to move to the big leagues! He seems pretty pleased!

First Sneakers

Asher got his first pair of sneakers today. A cute pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star in Navy. He wears a size 5 in them and they run big! He was between a 5.5-6 in a pair of Nikes we looked at!

A Moment In History

Tonight, our country, the wonder United States of America, elected the first African American president, Barack Obama.

This country called for change. Hours upon hours people waited in line to cast their vote. No matter their voting selection, in all, it was for change.

On this evening, my children, though not apparent to all, have a president with a background of their father. This is an amazing and I hope they grasp the importance of that someday but I have a feeling the older two already do. Everyone deserves to be represented in a number of ways in their government. They have seen amazing things this year. They have their first African American governor of New York who is also legally blind.

2008 has been a momentous year for our family, our state and our country.

May God bless us all.

Final Rec Soccer Game!

Today was Jared's last recreational soccer game of the season. He had a great day, scoring two goals. You can see the thrill in his face from his scoring too! Tyler, bored of soccer, read and ignored the person with the camera, as usual. Nonetheless, she's still gorgeous! Asher ate snacks, which is shocking, right? I know, it's not. His expression above is the "Mmm!" face. He found out he likes Scooby snacks.
